Rogers here in Toronto has on occasion become unbearably slow, to the point of being unusable, so I signed up for service from Bell.
Monday was the appointed day for a technician to arrive--they wouldn't let me install the modem myself, in spite of my nearly 30 years of experience with computers. I stayed home and waited, and waited, and waited.
No technician.
Later that evening, there was a call, and a recorded message from Bell, asking for my feedback on the installation service. Had it gone well?
Hmmmm.....
Our government is formulating new policies regarding wireless and foreign ownership to open up competition. I hope they consider ordinary Canadians, and do not let a pack of lobbyists define the issues.
There really is no one to turn to when things go wrong.
