It's a human thing.
I've been perusing the book 'Surviving Death' to find out what there is to find out about anything that might be worth finding out about, including the Underworld, where it is, and why it gets such bad press (I'm sure I'll find out soon enough--I hope they have lots of chocolate there.)
In discussing the survival of some element of the self after death, Mr. Johnston says that he doesn't know what the sufficient conditions for identity over time are, but he does know a persisting object when he sees one.
So do I.
It comes in a box of a dozen or so, or in a shiny wrapper.
On rare occasions, it can be extremely frustrating working with Blogger--I can't seem to organize the link to this book so that it stays where it's supposed to stay within the text, and I can't delete it and re-insert it. Curses, foiled again!
So I'll have to cut this entry short because I can't get it to come out the way I want it to--this is an excellent excuse to use at work, by the way, so feel free to take advantage of it. No credit to me necessary.
Actually, this excuse won't work, because Blogger seems to have quietly solved the problem while I was messing about with 'undo' and 'delete' and 'annihilate the universe' buttons.
In case you, too, run into problems formatting text and images, here is a large crane that can hoist any amount of images and shift them to wherever you like.
And here, from coolest-birthday-cakes.com, is an entry featuring cakes in the form of various construction vehicles and dump trucks. There are recipes and pictures to get you started, and if you need someone to test the results, let me know.
It seems to be Tuesday. It's not my fault!
No worries.
