I've been reading some old Archie comics. Archie and the gang have lived longer than I have, but they're still in high school--it must be some new form of eternal damnation. I wonder what mortal sins they committed to get them into such a pickle--maybe Miss Grundy got tired of handing out detentions and just told them all to stay in school forever.

Actually, I like the Archie gang--they don't go around beating each other up or firing off enormous weapons at each other. It's important to have at least one group of people who aren't bloodthirsty,vengeful, greedy, psychotic, or delusional. Mind you, they'll never be able to run for political office, but they serve in other ways.

By the way, here's an interesting article, with pictures, on modelling the Sherman tank. A scale model isn't quite as good as having the real thing, of course, but it's still pretty neat. You can always pretend you're blowing something up.
