The Attack of the Demented Vegetables

There are few things more alarming than zombie vegetables.

Here is a wonderful, 5-foot high castle made out of chocolate, from Chocolate Work. There are plenty of other amazing pieces on this site--it's definitely worth a look

For those of you who like to read about demolition, here is the Construction & Demolition Recycling magazine site, with a plethora of industry news and information.

And here is some information on a trash-handling and tamping grapple from North Shore Manufacturing.

No worries.

By the Way; Wellington Lost!

The world is full of armchair historians.

It's Friday; I can't think of any reasons for anything. Things just are. No one even asked my permission! This is no way to run a world, so I'm going to retire to this chocolate castle. I got this image from the Food Network, where you can find a recipe for it.

Actually, people who live in chocolate houses shouldn't eat chocolate.

Here's a picture of the god Monday hard at work flattening things. I got this image from the Make site, which is quite interesting, especially for people who can actually use drills, hammers and such without dropping them all the time, or hitting the wrong things.

So anyway, you can appease the god Monday by flattening something, perhaps a vegetable, or a spammer.

Time to head them off at the pass....

The World is Vanishing, One Sock at a Time!

Recent discoveries by the eminent psychiatrist, Dr. Philip Napoleon (Wellington Lost!) have shown that nothing is real.
I dispute this, having found proof in lots of different boxes of chocolate that reality comes in little wrappers and can be quite surprising.
Anyway, I'm late, I'm late, and I can't find the rabbit hole.

I will be posting intermittently for the next few days, if at all, until Saturday, when everything begins again. So there might be nothing, there might be something, or there might be a crop circle.

I had to take our cat in today for an examination and other probing matters. I know one of the cardinal rules of blogging is you're not supposed to post about your pets, but I found it very disturbing. I am the one who, for 18 years, has fed him, brushed him, combed him, played with him and fussed over him.  He trusts me completely.
So I take him into the vet, hand him over to strangers, and leave him.
It would be easier if he didn't try to crawl into the security of my arms.
Ah well, I'll pick him up soon enough, and he'll express his anger and sense of betrayal in many ways, until his first feed.

So there you have it. Life is full of tragedies, people dying all over the world, floods, famines, powerful storms, the general hostility of the universe to every living thing--but we do have friends, family, pets, etc., for a little while.

Nuts!
Here is a photo from the Battle of the Bulge. These guys had something to complain about! I found the photo on this interesting site, which features an account by Willard Bickel, a Pottstown draftee of '43.

And here is a chocolate castle, for anyone who would rather eat chocolate than enjoy the excitement, adventure, fresh air and healthy exercise of combat.

Good on you, mate!
